Guarantee and Post-Operative Care
We respectfully inform all patients that we are not able to guarantee any of the dental treatment carried out at the practice.
Dental restorations (fillings, inlays, onlays, crowns, veneers, dentures etc.) can fail mechanically due to accidental or intentional impact with a foreign body (ball, lamp post, floor, finger nail, pen, bottle, glass, cutlery, olive stone, etc.) or due to a day/night time clenching and grinding habit.
Dental restorations can also fail biologically due to decay and gum disease due to neglect, poor diet, smoking, poor home care and lack of regular attendance for routine examinations and Hygiene visits.
As you may appreciate, dentists have no control over the harmful environments dental restorations can/may/will be exposed to once the patient has left the practice.
Pre, during and post dental treatment, in depth professional knowledge and support will be provided to all our patients to ensure their dental restorations last as long as possible by minimising all harmful factors.
To prolong the health and stability of dental restorations, consider the following factors:
- Brush and floss daily
- Maintain a diet low in sugar and acid
- Avoid snacking throughout the day
- Treat any condition that produces excess stomach acid
- Avoid biting nails, pens, threads, etc., which may chip the restorations on the front teeth
- If you are a bruxer/clencher/grinder, wear a night guard at night and/or during the day
- If participating in contact sports, wear a sports guard
- Attend routine exams by the dentist every 6-12 months
- Undergo routine hygiene therapy every 3 months
